Sleep ZM Computer Glasses
These are the best budget blue light filtering glasses that we’re recommending. And despite the low price, they are of high quality, offering an impressive 99.9% blue light filtering rate.
Even though they have a bit of a cheap feel to them, they are light and comfortable and do their job really well. You will feel the difference as soon as you put them on.
Like most blue light filtering glasses out there, they are great for everyday use too: just look outside when wearing them and you’ll see what I mean!
They have a dark amber tint which is responsible for the filtering of the blue light, the lenses seem to be as scratch-resistant as they can get and are durable.
Also, very important, they are large enough for the frames not to obstruct your view. You can also place them over regular glasses if needed.
All in all, for a budget entry, the Sleep ZM Computer glasses are really good and offer a perfect blue light filtering option.

Gunnar Intercept
This is the first pair of computer glasses that I ever purchased and you can read my full review here.
These are blue light filtering glasses that only have a 65% efficiency. This doesn’t make them bad – this is how they are intended to be.
As a result, the dark orange tint is not as intense, and they will not interfere as much with the colors you see on the screen. So these are a good option for those who edit more images or need to do some color-sensitive tasks.
They are extremely durable: both the lenses and the frames. I had mine for almost four years before the frame broke down – that’s a really durable pair for sure, especially since I wasn’t particularly careful when handling them.
The Gunnars are large and comfortable, with a frame that is pleasant to the skin. They can easily be placed over regular reading glasses if you need to.
Have in mind that these glasses also come with a small magnification (+0.2) to help the eyes focus better. I am not really a fan of this, to be honest, but it wasn’t a deal breaker since I used them for four years.
All in all, these are highly recommended for those who don’t want a full blue light filtering option in order to keep the on-screen colors as close to reality as possible.

Swanwick Fitover
While I can’t say that I am the biggest fan of their shape, it’s good to have alternatives and this is where the Swanwick Fitover comes into play.
These blue light glasses are big and filter up to 100% of the incoming blue light thanks to their dark orange tinted lenses.
They are also pretty large, so you can wear them over your prescription glasses. But there’s something about them that doesn’t really convince me – probably their shape and not the filtering quality.
While we didn’t have such problems, we saw various reports from people disappointed with how durable the frames are. So if you decide to get this pair, be extra careful when handling them – you should do this with any pair of glasses, actually!
All in all, these glasses do their job well and filter out that bad light, which is all that matters in the end. They’re not the best looking ones around, in my opinion, but if you disagree – you already found your pair!

Gunnar Intercept+ – Editor’s Choice
I’m still a fan of Gunnar and this pair is the one that I would recommend the most out of all options here. It’s simply flawless!
Coming with a darker color lens when compared to the previous Gunnar model that I recommended, they filter out 98% of the incoming blue light.
They also filter out all incoming UV light and are anti-glare, making them the perfect choice for those who want to improve their well being, quality of sleep, get rid of headaches and reduce eye strain.
They are large, durable and comfortable and they also look really good in my opinion. It’s a great choice and my top recommendation for sure. The only reason why you should pick a different pair, in my opinion, is if you don’t like the design.
But if you do, don’t search anything else and get these. You’ll be extremely satisfied with your Gunnars, just as I have been since switching over.

BLUblox Crystal Sleep+
If you have a larger budget available for your blue light filtering glasses, you will find these to be really interesting.
They are the only glasses on the market (at least based on our knowledge) that promise to filter out 100% of the incoming blue light.
They also have a funky, stylish design, while still being large enough to remain comfortable and not have the frames get in the way. A good buy for sure, if you have the budget for them!

Things to know before buying a pair of blue light glasses
If the pair of blue light filtering glasses is the first one you’re buying, let me share you a few quick but extremely useful tips. This will help you make the best choice and enjoy all the benefits that a high quality pair of glasses offers!
Size matters!
It doesn’t really matter if you already wear glasses or not, getting a pair with lenses that are as big as possible is what you should do.
Maybe you are not necessarily a fan of these large sized glasses, but if you choose some smaller ones whose frames get in the way, you’ll understand that bigger is better.
Plus, if you’re already wearing prescription glasses, the larger ones will easily fit over your existing pair, making computer work or gaming or whatever a lot more comfortable.
But trust me when I say that your blue light glasses should come with a large lens!
They will change colors
The glasses that filter out the harmful blue light need to have that orange/yellow/amber tint in order to work. Some will have a more intense tint than others, but they all need it otherwise they won’t filter enough blue light.
This means that some colors you see on the screen will be more or less altered. The darker the lens, the bigger the impact.
This means that people who work with colors – like graphic designers or videographers will need a bit of an adjustment – or get a pair that has a lighter coating, like the first pair of Gunnars that I recommended.
You can wear them all day long
A nice thing about these glasses is that you can actually wear them all day long.
If you wear them when going outside or driving, you will actually get an advantage as well – colors and contrast will be better and you’ll feel safer.
I actually started to wear my new pair of glasses – those with a very strong amber tint – when driving, instead of my sunglasses. They are perfect when driving during the night as they filter out annoying headlight blue light that sometimes blinds you.
So no matter if you wear prescription glasses or not, you can actually wear these blue light glasses all day long without a problem. You will actually see extra benefits from doing so!
