Do you love your Instagram photos? Everybody does – that’s why they post them in the first place. But sometimes, we want to have those photos in high resolution saved on our phone, ready to be used elsewhere if needed. However, as you already know, Instagram doesn’t let you save high resolution photos of the pictures you have take and posted on the social network.
Well… not anymore because I am here to share with you a quick trick that will let you save your Instagram photos in high resolution on your device. Let’s see how to do this – without resorting to third party apps or taking screenshots of your phone’s display!
It’s all easily done by using a feature that Instagram has, but doesn’t really brag with, making it unknown to most of its users. This feature allows you to save a high resolution copy of the photo you publish, as you publish it – and the said resolution goes up to 2048×2048 pixels (sometimes a bit lower, but still more than enough for most cases!).
Here are the step by step instructions on how to set Instagram save high resolution photos on your phone:
– Launch Instagram and tap your Profile button in the lower right section of the screen
– Tap the settings button in the upper right corner and scroll down until you see Save Original Photos
– Simply toggle that option, you’re all set
Instagram will now save a copy of any and all photos that you publish on the social network in high resolution. On iPhone for example it saves them in a dedicated album (called Instagram) which you can access by hitting the Albums icon in your Photos menu. Most likely, the same happens with Android phones where all your high resolution photos are stored in a similarly named album.
And this is it! This is all you have to do to quickly enable Instagram to save your high resolution photos!
