Best Laptops with Numeric Keypad (2021 Update)

Best Laptops with Numeric Keypad (2021 Update)

I prefer laptops with a numeric keypad (aka number pad) as I need to type lots of long numbers in my field of work. I can imagine that a numpad could be useful for a set of varied professions, from accountants to web designers, engineers and so on.

And today, we’re here to share the best laptops with a numeric keypad. We will include both lower end laptops for those who don’t need to do a lot of things on their laptop, but also some very high performance model for those who need dedicated GPU and more power under the hood.

It’s worth noting that usually, smaller screen-size laptops won’t feature a numeric keypad because there is simply no room for one. In this case, or if you already bought a new laptop and it doesn’t have a numpad, you could always look for an USB number pad like this one on Amazon (affiliate link).

It’s good to know that you have options, but nothing really compares to actually have a solid laptop with a numeric keypad featured on the keyboard by default. So let’s check out what are the best options on the market today!

What is the best laptop with a numeric keypad in 2021?

If you want to find out all the details about the recommended models above, let’s check out the complete reviews below, so that you can make an educated choice.

HP 15

hp 15 laptop with numpad

This is the cheapest laptop on our list, perfect for those who don’t really want a super-performant laptop, but still need a number pad.

Powered by an AMD Ryzen 3 3250U processor, but also 8GB of RAM, this laptop is decent in terms of performance if you’re not expecting it too run very complex or resource-demanding software.

It is great for most accounting software, for example, and perfect for internet browsing, streaming movies and TV series, video calls and other similar tasks that don’t need a ton of resources.

This is a 15.6″ laptop with a Micro-Edge Display, meaning that you get a nice screen-to-body ratio and a decent image quality, even though the laptop itself is just HD and not full HD. So the maximum resolution on this model is 1366 x 768 pixels.

It also offers just 256GB of storage space on a fast SSD. This means that you get really good reading/writing speeds, but the actual storage is extremely limited.

But at this very low price, you can’t really have huge expectations. Still, this laptop remains a good choice and image quality is still pretty good in all honesty.

It also has a solid battery life, it is thin and light and very portable and offers 2 additional USB Type-A ports and one Type-C, as well as an HDMI slot and a card reader. So you’ve got everything covered in this area!

All in all, for such a low priced laptop, you’re getting decent specifications and a very good looking laptop with a full-sized numeric keypad to make work easier.

Acer Aspire 5

If you’re ready to pay a bit more and you need a laptop that offers improved performance (but still you don’t want a laptop that’s extremely fast), then the Acer Aspire 5 might be the better choice.

Very similar to the previous model in terms of specifications, it has a better processor – the 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7. It also comes with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB NVMe SSD, which is the fastest one around.

It also has a better GPU, the new Iris Xe Graphics which is offers a solid improvement over regular integrated GPUs, but it’s still nowhere near the power of a dedicated graphics card.

But we’re talking about improvements here and there, and that is all that matters!

We should also mention that this 15.6″ laptop offers full HD resolution (1920 x 1080px), so a better image quality overall. It also has a nice screen to body ratio and a good design.

It’s worth noting that the numer pad is not a full one – while you do have all the numbers in place, the large + key, as well as the large Enter key below it are missing. These have been moved above the numeric keypad so it will take a little bit of practice to learn the new positions.

We don’t think that this is a major deal breaker though, although you will have to be careful at first since the power button is in the same area.

In terms of added connectivity, you have 1 USB-C port, 1 USB Type 3.2 port and one USB 2.0, as well as the mandatory HDMI port. But it does not have an SD or microSD slot.

Overall, you get a visually stunning laptop that gives you a solid performance and decent battery life. If you don’t need more, this is a very good laptop!

HP Pavilion 15

hp pavilion 15 laptop

This is our top choice in terms of price/quality when it comes to a solid laptop with a numeric keypad. It offers a lot of goodies and solid specifications – but still it doesn’t have a proper dedicated graphics card – so if you really need that, check our next two recommendations.

But back to this model, you get a premium looking laptop with a full number pad, a a large screen-to-body ratio and solid specifications.

It comes with a great CPU – the Intel Core i7-1165G7 Processor (11th Generation), but also 16GB of RAM.

It has more storage than the previous two models – 512GB on a fast NVMe SSD. While it’s still a bit on a low side, 512GB are already just enough for most people out there.

It doesn’t feature a dedicated graphics card, but it has the Intel Iris Xe Graphics which is Intel’s newer integrated graphics technology, offering better performance than previous ones.

With a 15.6″ display that allows full HD resolution and a great battery (with fast charging), this is a reliable, high performance laptop that will keep you really happy.

It offers various ports, like an USB Type C one, 2 USB Type A ports, HDMI and microSD card reader. So unless you need dedicated graphics, this is a great choice!

Lenovo Legion 5 – Editor’s Choice

lenovo legion laptop

This is our top choice when it comes to laptops with a numpad. With dedicated GPU and great specifications, it can easily handle all programs and games you throw at it, making any type of work or entertainment a breeze.

We’re talking about a 15.6″ full HD laptop powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H Processor, as well as 16GB RAM. It has a decently sized SSD that offers 512GB of storage.

The display is also an improved one, which not only offers crisp, high quality colors, but also a 144Hz refresh rate, one that will make gaming and all moving images a lot smoother and nicer to watch.

The best part about it is the fact that it has a dedicated graphics card, the NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti, which gives you a lot of options. While this isn’t the latest GPU on the market, it remains a very solid one that can handle modern games, video editing and other more high resource-demanding tasks.

With Lenovo being known as a budget laptop brand, you’re getting all the features above – and an overall great laptop – for a low price, making it a perfect purchase.

It has a ton of ports also: no less than four USB 3.1 ports, but also 1 USB Type-C and HDMI.

It is a bit bulkier because of the dedicated GPU that is fitted inside, but still looks pretty good and, what matters the most, offers great performance for the money!

MSI GF75

Last but not least, we have a great recommendation for those who want a larger display laptop. Unlike the previous models, this one is a 17.3″ full HD laptop, offering plenty of extra screen space.

It also has some great specifications, making it a really powerful laptop that can handle almost anything you throw at it.

Powered by Intel’s i7-9750H processor and 32GB of RAM, it is as fast as it gets.

It also offers a ton of storage space thanks to an impressive combo: 512GB on a SSD drive, but also 1TB on a traditional HDD for extra storage. A pretty good deal!

It also has a dedicated GPU, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti which is present on our previous model and we’ve already talked about it.

Also built as a gaming laptop, it comes with a super screen, with 144Hz refresh rates that make it better for the eye and improve the quality of videos and movement in games.

It has your regular set of ports – 1 USB-C, 3 USB-A and HDMI, but also a backlit keyboard with anti-ghost capabilities. And, of course, a full numeric keypad.

Being larger than the rest and with a dedicated GPU, it is a bit larger and heavier, but still pretty portable as it is around 15% thinner and lighter than your average 17.3″ gaming laptop.

In other words, the perfect choice if you want a larger screen!
